I regularly plug in a USB cable to my iphone, give authorization to access, then open the phone as a folder, which pretty much gives access only to photos.
Drag and drop into appropriate folders, or use some photo editing software to organize I suppose.
The folder method is the same that I use for downloading from a camera.
But then I have always preferred to organize my photos myself using standard folders and my own methods of organization, versus leaving it up to some software that will probably go obsolete someday and leave me with a mystery to solve to find my photos.
Works great for me for the few terrabytes of photos I have shot digitally anyway.
1) Turn on "Hotpantz" iphone so you are at the main screen.
2) Take cable and plug into iPhone
3) Take the USB and plug into Computer
4) Go to File Explorer
5) click on "Hotpantz iPhone"
6) click on Internal Storage
7) click on DCIM
8) click on ???APPLE
There you have the files.
