As far as I can tell this is not a joke. However, there is always the possibility that Dr Cho has a wicked sense of humor and that he is willing to jeopardize his career. Of course this is also a ridiculously easy straight line. Just remember though, in the old comedy teams the straight man got paid more because it was the harder job; the split was typically 60/40. In this case the split would probably be about 95/5.
