Kinda surprised Bootpathguy's sarcasm went over your head their Randy. He's obviously being highly sarcastic and railing against those who treat the rules as guidelines
Fair enough. Hilariously around Greenlake the city parks department posts guidelines for using the path and minimizing conflict between user. Sadly some people interpret the guidelines as hard and fast rules and take it upon themselves to enforce them, with spectacular results. https://blog.seattlepi.com/seattle911/2009/02/27/are-people-required-to-follow-green-lake-path-instructions/ http://kuow.org/post/whats-right-way-go-around-green-lake

You mean Bill Nye's alter ego Speed Walker.

Just let your dog run all over creation, even if it states "Dogs on Leash at all times." Because other people are the problem not your dog. Your dog is perfect and all of us hikers are at fault for being on the trail at the same time. paranoid.gif

I forgot to get a picture. The info board on the Similkameen trail had something like This is an Unleashed Dog Trail sign on it. I liked that.

What's especially fun about sock puppets is that you can make each one unique and individual, so that they each have special characters. And they don't have to be human––animals and aliens are great possibilities

Thats the attitude of many hiking with dogs people Ive come across. Not all of course, but many. Very few dog hikers obey the rules with respect to leash laws or dogs not allowed laws.

"If destruction be our lot we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of freemen we must live through all time or die by suicide." — Abraham Lincoln

Oh jeez, here we go. Logically, that statement just doesn't hold water. There are LOT of people who hike with dogs out there. Like many thousands. If very few obeyed the rules you'd be seeing a lot more dogs in places where they're not allowed. Honestly now, how many dogs have you seen in the Enchantments or on trails in National Parks? Probably a few more at Ingalls Lake/Headlight Basin, but still relatively few. Dogs are allowed pretty much everywhere else. Whether people follow leash laws or not is, of course, another question and I'll concede that a lot of people don't follow those regulations but from what I've seen it's a definite minority. It only takes a few people to ruin it for everyone else.
