Ditto, but I also wouldnt want to give that nation any of my money! Id go to a more U.S. friendly nation like Bermuda.

I was just down in Oaxaca with my kids and had a blast. I tend to agree with Stefan about how safe and great Mexico is. I have taken over 10 trips down there myself and enjoy the chill vibe, friendly, remarkably peaceful and genuinely kind people there. I don't mind spending my tourist dollars down there one bit. It is unfortunate, that the drug cartels have infiltrated so my places and the government is corrupt and democracy at least according to most Mexicans I spoke with is a sham. I think the Oaxaca state is definitely safe (Puerto Angel, Puerto Escondido, Mazunte, Manzanillo) and would highly recommend a visit; I used to frequent Zihuatenejo and environs and loved it but the cartel presence in Guerrero state is big, so I cannot comment, as I haven't been there lately, to know how safe it is presently.
