FYI. Rivers in Okanogan County are high or flooding. Some county roads are closed. Check before you go.

What's especially fun about sock puppets is that you can make each one unique and individual, so that they each have special characters. And they don't have to be human末animals and aliens are great possibilities

We've gone from a cooler than normal late winter-early spring to a much above normal mid-spring. The snow is going like gangbusters. A repeat of the last year, hopefully without a hot, dry, and fire prone summer.

the same conditions exist in western montana as well with many streams and rivers at or near flood stage due to the heavy snowpack, warmer temperatures and heavy rainfall.

Damn right. Except of course for the MF Snoqualmie. All those MBP hikers clogging up the road with their personal vehicles have ruined that experience. Back in the day when I used to hike MBP, 5-10 cars was a crowd.

Yup. I've been gone for a couple of days and noticed this morning that the Tiffanies have bare spots showing. A 90 year old aquaintance sees similarities with the spring of 1948.

I just drove through Tonasket, Omak and Okanogan... there is active flooding in fields, one lane traffic in one section just south of Tonasket, a riverfront park in Okanogan that was half full of water and a large group of people that looked like they were going to sand bag some homes right along the river. LOTs of water!

It's all about the fun, oh and maybe the chocolate - half fast

Is there a website to check road status other than USFS? They tend to be slow to post updates.

For here, Google Okanogan County Public Works. They have county road closures up to date. My pc is on strike so I cannot post the link. Tomorrow is supposed to be a day of higher water levels for the Okanogan River.
