It's been a long winter for the flying vampires, and they are in dire need of sustenance. They are holding a blood drive from now until September at the Twin Lakes trail. All you need to do is show up. Short on time? They are now offering an on the go service, drawing blood as you hike. All blood types accepted. Additional locations will be announced in the coming months. Thank you for your consideration. dizzy.gif

It seems that the blood drive is happening a week early this year. We saw only a few mosquitos when we were there on May 26 last year. We could barely see out of the windshield by the time we got home from Mad River last week, they were plastered on so heavily! Did Pebbles cross the creek on the footlog a little ways upstream?

They were out on Dirty Face this weekend too. None at the summit thankfully but pretty annoying in the parking area.

Nancy, Pebbles crossed on the same log as me upstream - in fact, she beat me to it smile.gif When I first got her, she was terrified of log crossings, but now she's an old pro. Now if I could just get her to enjoy swimming...

Good for Pebbles, what a long way she has come! Hiking Partner’s Plotthound, who is a very experienced log crosser, took forever to get up her nerve to cross that one the first time. smile.gif
