Thanks for posting! Now I am dreaming even if this may be a bit out of my league.

Thanks for posting this report. I know how much work goes into making a long report. The sea of clouds shots are good for capturing just a fraction of what that's like to see it in person. We did the traverse last year and it was one of my favorite trips of the year. Bummer to hear the bridge is washed out. I hope that gets fixed someday.

I don't. That was my one sentence review of her blog; it's good reading.

Great trip! Made it past the K Col several years back and got blown out by the storm and want to go back. Looks like you skiied over the K Col? No unpleasant class 4 backpack climbing over it? Was the boulder field up to Eldorado covered in snow and if not how was it? Did you rope around that Knarley patch enroute to Primus or was careful steps enough...
Really great photos and narrative! One day to the K A col, you were moving!

Yeah K col was solid snow. K-A col was starting to melt out but the snow was high enough that there was only a few few of down climbing to cross the ridge. I can see that part getting annoying when it's more melted out.
Eldorado boulder field was melted out until about 4500', which means we had about 500' of boulders to scrape our skis on. Melting fast though.
We just took careful steps around that steep part to Primus. Snow was still soft enough that we weren't too afraid of a long fall...but we definitely took the skis off and booted it.
