There are a couple kits out there for 1 and 2 inch lifts. Would be interested in anyone's experience with this mod.
I have no direct experience with modifying a vehicle by way of a lift kit, but moving a body/frame 1-2" higher off the axles seems like a lot of $ for no practical gain of anything. The axles are still the same distance from the ground, as dictated by wheel diameter and tire profile.
You *may* gain some extra clearance in snow, but not enough to notice. I have a Dodge pickup that sits high (from the factory), and I've gotten it high centered in snow. It just takes more shovel time to get it out. 😜

That would be true for a truck. The axles here articulated and the inboard cv’s raise with the vehicle so there is a benefit. Lifting also allows larger diameter tires. Really only interested in hearing experience. I’m sure there’s many opinions.
No, I have never lifted a forester. They tend to wear a lot of heavy gear and are usually bigger than me. They may be of an introverted nature and would not appreciate being lifted.
What's especially fun about sock puppets is that you can make each one unique and individual, so that they each have special characters. And they don't have to be human––animals and aliens are great possibilities
