I used our 1999 Toyota Sienna when I toured the western national parks in Jan.-Feb. 2015. With all the back seats out except one, it's very comfortable and roomy enough for two sets of ski gear, snowshoes, backpacking gear etc. Would have been even more roomy if I had used a pod. But got 25mpg highway instead. And believe me, refrigeration was not a problem.

"Starting at $45,900"
Casita and Scamp trailers start at 1/3 of that

Just make sure the van you get doesn't get mistaken for a transient vehicle parking out in the woods.

There are more and more people are living long term in vehicles. In Seattle this ranges from Corollas to fairly large RVs. Many of them are employed, but priced out of Seattle's crazy real estate market. Some of the larger RVs parked along the ship canal in Ballard have large generators strapped to the roof to provide lots of AC power.

Is great resource-- I just returned from 4 weeks of #VanLife in the SW and paid for a campsite or motel room for just 4 nights.

Looks more similar to any of the various >$2,000 tents-on-pickup (e.g., Flip-Pac, RIP) than a pop-up camper.

My wife and I are looking at one of these for ourselves. We wouldn't need a truck or big vehicle to tow it, so that is a plus.

We looked at a Four Wheel Camper "Swift" (5' model for midsize truck) model in Issaquah today. There's a local dealer in the area now. Very nice!

Didn't know that. FWC is expanding dealers in a big way. FWC was recently purchased by a hedge fund. Not sure what that means.
Swift is for 5' small truck (e.g., Taco) bed? Can you fit a Fleet with the tailgate down? The extra foot of length is nice and Fleet has 3 floor plans.

Yeah, Fleet is the way to go, and a truck with 6’ bed. Thanks for all the advise They have other models to crawl in, enough to get a good idea about floor plans.

I just drove my camper van up FS 59 to the Glacier View trailhead. Nasty road, but so worth it for the view of Rainier.

Casita has quit making their 13 footer so their other models start near $20,000 new. There are Escape trailers made just across the border that are comparable in price what with the "Canadian Discount" and they will work more with customers to customize their fiberglass trailers. I do not know if a tariff will be put on them. There isn't a shortage of work for any of the two main fiberglass trailer builders here. All have waiting lists.
I just returned from a buggy stay at Bonaparte Lake.
What's especially fun about sock puppets is that you can make each one unique and individual, so that they each have special characters. And they don't have to be human––animals and aliens are great possibilities
