I read a book about John Muir and his efforts to save HH from the damn that was subsequently built, he and others fought long and hard but in the end political BS prevailed. Later studies confirmed what Muir had suggested all along, that SF did not need that damn, at least at that time. I wonder if they do remove the dam if the valley could truly be restored to close to what it once was?

It will be back to what it was in a few thousand years or a little longer. SF needs the water, geological time will fix the rest. Humans are natural, there is nothing inherently bad about using the valley as water storage. I see antihuman elements in the arguments presented.
