The tarn below the summit is one of the best swimming holes I've ever been in. Perfect for escaping bugs and heat yet warm enough to lounge around in without shivering after a couple of minutes.
The highest of the tarns on Mac Peak. This one is about 10' deep in the middle.
Deception lakes has had the worst mosquitoes each and every time i have passed by over the decades. Sorry my signnature wasn’t there from my 2011 trip
Sorry the original register got lost! But I don't agree about Deception Lakes. Deception Lakes were actually nice compared to Mac Peak slopes Mac Peak is where the headquarters are!

My dog hates water, so tarns don't work for us for cooling. Only snow does
