Do you remember which side of the pond it is on? I can't recall seeing it.

Definitely the east side of the pond, at the end of an old road that comes from the north.

There's some old logging equipment on the MFSRR about 0.5 miles from the end of the road not far from the old road you take to get to Hardscrabble lakes.

Despair is only for those who see the end beyond all doubt.

Not sure if this is on public or private land but it's on the hike at Pearrygin Lake.

Quinault Truck (1 of 1)
Quinault Truck (1 of 1)
This is by that old "homestead" that's along the road on the north shore of the Quinault. There's another old truck near some of the waterfalls that come down to the road along the south shore (if memory serves, in both cases upriver of the lake).

It was on private land until about 10 years ago, when the State bought the land and added it to Pearrygin Lake State park.

I wonder what people think when cars enter the forest all bright and shiny... But remain there over time. At first one thinks of how they can be removed and recycled somehow.
This red one I found while looking for a fire lookout maybe a year ago or more. Evidently the FS knew about it.... It's still there minus wheels though.
Then there's the parts. This is jade one is of three pieces...
These oldies I spotted near Lester. All these years and I never even saw them. Even a tagger left his mark. They've been there awhile!
Now who is going to clean up this mess???

This 80's Subaru wagon was seen on the way to Thorpe Lookout trail.

Is that on the old Olney Creek logging road that spurs off Sultan Basin? I've not been there since last year this time, but I'm heading up tomorrow AM

For too many years I gazed at the Cascades and other mountains as they taunted me and I said "...Someday..." Now I find I'm running out of somedays...
