Just took a look at the Rainier webcam a couple minutes ago, and it looks like smoke rising to the NE of the mountain. Maybe it's clouds, I can't tell from the webcam. Anyone out there able to take a look?

Miriam Fire just south of White Pass was shown as being 4824 acres yesterday, August 28th.
It's south-southeast of Rainier, but the haze was visible when we drove up through Stevens Canyon yesterday just before sunset.
I can't tell much from those webcam images right now other than it looks like a big cloud north-northeast of the summit of Rainier.

Definitely a distinct smoke streamer from the GRW area lingering over Yakima around sunset. Not the ubiquitous BC smoke of late, a real distinct tendril of smoke.

Was on Bandera around 6pm yesterday and definitely saw a plume coming off a ridge north of Rainier.

I was at MRNP yesterday, south side. As the day wore on as well as during the drive home, I saw lots of interesting clouds building up in advance of the incoming front. So could be clouds.
Or could be smoke. There was (is?) a lightning caused fire in the vicinity of Cowlitz Divide SW of Indian Bar. Also was (is?) one off FS 74 on the NE side of MRNP. A few days ago, some friends reported seeing a wildfire from the Tatoosh to their NE. They said they could see flames, but didn't investigate further to identify the exact location. I was wondering if that was the Cowlitz Divide fire.

That looks to be in the location of the wildfire off FS74 (I don't remember what they named it.)
