I was last out late July when we backpacked Scaffold Ridge and dropped down into Duffy Lakes which I think may have burned in the Crescent wildfire after that the smoke and trail closures kept me in the gym with AQI readings over here reaching 450 plus at times the smoke eased up in the last 1-2 weeks and I ran all most everyday until this quick hike with Hit the Trail along Burch Ridge I said who would have thought we would be on the Swakane Canyon side of this ridge in August but we had blue skies and some fresh air, planned a weekday backpack in the ALW, and hoped the long range outlook for a warmer, dry Fall might make up for some lost time. I like this ridge hike it is probably one of the best hikes for views around Wenatchee.
A nice view of the front of "Balcony" on lower Entiat Ridge.
Great idea for a quick local hike with world class views and blue skies. You could actually drive all the way to the peak of this hike if you had a lifted 4X4 and were skilled at turning around on the small space at the summit. Or you could make it as long as you want, even hike up from town. We opted for the 7 mile version along the undulating ridge. Just about right.
