Things have become a bit crazy around here lately, perhaps the smoke brought November doldrums early. Since we have been largely concerned with breezy speculation (BS) about all sots of topics with marginal relations to hiking, what about the latest mystery in the southwest. Back to the off topic topic. The Solar observatory has been suddenly closed and employees evacuated. This is due to mysterious “security concerns”. Government sources are adamant that this is not about aliens, but who trusts them anyhow. Any guesses what this is all about. Swamp gas?, Patriots, John Galt, or something more sinister?

That is weird. They are not saying why they evacuated everyone.
Some one walked around inside the compound and posted a video. Now they have guards at the entrance.

Looks nice. In the sticks, with reliable power, running water, a few neighbors to play pickle ball with, trails, mountain bikes. Grader on-site, so dedicated snow plow on winter. It is any observatory. Presumably stinking fast internet. Grocery?

Ok, so my guess it has something to do with the nearby military bases. The observatory is apparently open to the public. Maybe someone trying to get info on bases through the observatory?
