My pocket rocket has worked just fine on lots of backpack trips but on the last trip it developed a yellow flame, and consequently sooted up my pot...obviously not working well. Tried loosening, tightening on canister and different canisters. Still a yellow flame. Any one know what's going on? I didn't see any posts on this.

When I grow up I wanna play.

Yellow flame usually indicates oxygen starvation, aka "reducing" flame. Check to see if something is restricting air feed.

If you can't resolve it yourself, MSR (aka Cascade Designs) has a service center south of the stadiums in Seattle. They've been very helpful fixing my snowshoes in the past. Very good customer support.

I went to MSR repair shop and they ended up giving me a new one ! (apparently plugged) Really nice service! Even got some free tent stakes. Ya hoo! The repair shop is next to Cascade Designs.(not at 3800 block) but south.

That's great. I've had good luck with MSR and Cascade Design service.

Yes, I had heard that MSR had good service in the past. They didn't have to give me a new stove....I had used it for a few years. So, really it was excellent customer service. Makes such a difference when businesses operate that way! Yea, I do like my stove. :-). Light, fast and dependable.

When I grow up I wanna play.
