Nancyann, Big Greider was the first hike we took our kids on when we came back to the PNW in 2000! Haven't been up there since then, but it certainly looks lovely.

Just the setting sun. You can see part of it on the still green forest below as well as on the trees in the background on the right.

You guys can't believe how jealous I am of your larch pictures. We've had an extended summer, here on the east coast, which has led to the non-appearance of fall colors. There's been almost nothing until this past week, when the temperatures have finally dropped into the 30s. Some muted color is beginning to appear, but it's beginning to look like a bad year for it. Yesterday morning I visited some nearby waterfalls (southwestern Pennsylvania), hoping to shoot them against the vibrant yellows and reds of fall foliage. The waterfalls and streams were running well, with some recent rains, but it was still very green...

Greetings from one edge of the area, south of Bluff UT, originally designated as the Bear's Ears National Monument, since de-designated (which is being fought in court). Not intending to turn this into a thread that should be in Stewardship, but I think it's worth sharing roughly where this is...

I like this windows spotlight image. In addition to the Lion I see a bit of Mt. Rushmore.
