Holy cow! Surprising but sad story. I've always been a bit concerned about how habituated some of the Cascade Pass bears are to people. They never appear dangerous, but the fact that a few of them show little fear of people at close range is concerning to me. It's cool to have them graze by sometimes less than 100 feet away, and I take full advantage of it to take pics, but I think it would be healthier for all if they had more fear of humans.

Bob Legasa hails from Hayden Idaho and is living (and still) breathing proof that bear spray does work. His partner was able to get off two blasts of bear spray which drove off the Grizzly sow and her cub.
Mr. Legasa shoots a lot of ski video and interestingly enough shot this video. Little did he know that information contained in that video would save his life.
