Does anyone have any pictures or history of Trinity and the associated mine? I think it was called the Red Mountain mine. The last time I was up there, in the'60's, the site still contained a lot of buildings which I assumed were housing for the miners and families. There was still an old mine structure I think was associated with the mine. My great uncle worked in the mine at one time.

several years ago trinity was hosted by a colorful caretaker. there where some ammussing posts on this website when a user noted a certain smokey smell and possible culitvation of said crops. the caretaker did find it and reply. noting that the posters where tresspassing...(there is an easement for hikers). he would let us stay in the cabins during the winter in exchange for sledding in supplies. i think there was the main building and 3 cabins. im pretty sure they still have an operating hydro generator. its in a large outbuilding.

The main "mine structure" you are talking about may have been the old mill building which has collapsed since the 60s.

GC99, Thanks. As I remember from the early 60s, or maybe before, the structure was to the right as you came to the site, and what I guess were residents were off to the left in a large flat area. I did take some pictures. If can find any I will digitize and try to post. DB

That sounds about right as far as the mill. It would have been off to your right and up the hill a bit. It was stripped inside when the mine closed but they left the building. Too bad it's gone, it was one of the few standing mills in WA.
