Good news! Expanded logging of much of the forested hillsides of this popular recreation area between Bellingham and Mt. Vernon had been planned for years, but now more acreage including the most popular trails will be set aside for recreation. http://kgmi.com/news/007700-land-purchase-allows-for-preservation-of-oyster-dome/

What's the name of your local bike club! Wow, thanks for the information, Brushbuffalo! lots of folks to thank on this one; bikers, hikers, organizations, locals, and DNR for listening. Blanchard Mtn really is a sweet place.
