Polls have closed and the top 2 in each category are now revealed here (in random order). First place prints on calendar page and second place earns a spot on the back cover. Come to the December 14 social for the reveal.

Time is running out. Photos must be submitted by Monday at midnight. We are still well below the usual number of photos. Go HERE and use the edit button to add your photos to a given month. Up to one photo per category per person.

Thanks to everyone who has contributed photos to the calendar contest this year. There are exquisitely beautiful entries for all twelve months, plus the calendar cover. Personally, I have no idea how I am going to be able to choose which ones I like best! Photos must be submitted by midnight tonight, Monday, November 12.

I've felt very confident about one of my photos for a long time. The first thought I had when I shot it was "I just won the nwhikers calendar contest!" I didn't think "this is a great shot," it was "nwhikers will love this!" Now that I see everybody else's photos, I'm not as sure anymore. Good work everyone, it's been a good year.

I'm going to leave submissions open another 24 hours as there is a note in June that a photo may have been deleted by mistake. Please double check to make sure your submissions are there in all months.

Hardest vote I've ever had in this contest! That's heaping well-deserved praise on all the photographers! Everyone deserves to win!

May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view.--E.Abbey

So when do the polls close? I recall there being horse races for some previous months. Stunning photos throughout. This year September and October are tough. Some awesome shots there. ~z

It's hard to predict what will get votes. There is a propensity for three types of photos I don't normally take - Sunsets, Flowers, Animals. This year we've got lots of sunsets but few of the others and no flowers or animals as finalists.

Au contraire, there's a birdie among the finalists for January. smile.gif
