Yes and yes!
From yesterday morning, in West Virginia:
Believe it or not, this is a selfie. I took this with a 10sec timer, and only just managed to get into position before the shot fired. Heart racing after my sprint, I then had to stand still for the 2-sec exposure required for the pre-dawn light.

From my last day of my just-finished SW tour, A little alcove with what look to me like they could be dwellings of an ancient race of 3/8 inch humanoids. Geology can be pretty weird.

Here's another from my recent wanderings in the SW, this from Deadhorse Point; the classic view of this gooseneck bend of the Colorado River just above its confluence with the Green River. I was treated to a nice cloud layer that morning with a blue strip on the eastern horizon - pretty good sky conditions for this scene. This was just just as the sun was barely getting an edge above the La Sal mountains to the east...

Thanks. It was a fun trip. Here's another couple - from the upper Virgin River valley, which offered decent bonus periods of really fine light when one side was in shadow and the other had its sheer red wall lit by the sun. Which provided fine reflected light on the shadowed side. I considered staying several more days to milk this phenomenon but the itch to move on (and away from the upper Virgin River Valley crowds!) won out.
