Au contraire, there's a birdie among the finalists for January. |
And a Goat in April, though I thought it was a dog in the preview pic.

Also fuzzy waterfall shots. I have never understood the appeal of those. For September, October and November, I don't think any of the finalists would have made my top 5. Not that the finalists are ugly by any means, I'll be happy to have them on my wall.

I really liked it, and I'm a XC skier who has been there so I liked that too. My concern was it wasn't blowing up very big when I clicked on it so I was concerned it was not hi-res enough. Maybe that was misplaced. Sorry...

Only a few more minutes left to vote. We have a tie in September so your vote may determine the winner. January is also a toss up with 1 vote separating first and second place.

We have a tie in September. Please re-vote in this month if you haven't already voted for one of the 2 photos. Polls will close midnight 11/21.
The top 2 in each category are now revealed here (in random order). If your photo is in the top 2 please email a full size photo to admin@nwhikers.net ASAP and include your desired caption and photo credit.

Okay. I have a question. On the voting thread I am only being asked to vote for September. Does that mean that all my previous voting is reflected in the top two of the other categories? I have looked at these several times and can't remember my most recent vote in each month. On the first round I only had two show up in the top three. Then we voted again as I recall.
Now we are looking at the top two of those three. One of my last votes for sure didn't make it. I chose the Third Place winner in November. (I love that photo whoever you are ). So I would expect to be eligible to vote again in the runoff for that month. In fact, I thought we were being asked to vote again in every category. Not complaining at all, just a bit confused on how this closing part works. Though I do say that this entire process is very well organized and managed. Thanks. ~z
Edit: Just now voted for September so I am up to date on that.

The polls are closed in other months (the primary closed Friday and the top 3 runoff closed last night). The order of the top 2 in those months is random and does not reflect which one you voted for or which photo won first place (winners are revealed at the social). The only reason September is still open for voting is it ended in a tie for first place so we need to break the tie.

September is still deadlocked. Was 44-44. Now 48-48. Be sure to vote before midnight.

I was surprised third place in March didn't fare batter. Same for October.

Anything to embiggen the number of photos featured in the calendar sounds good to me. So many good ones that didn't make the cut...

Especially October. So many gorgeous shots. My fave was that exquisite photo of Mt. Rainier (from Burroughs I believe) looking up the White River. Those colors on the mountain are spectacular. Looks like a plein air painting. Must have been magical in person. ~z
