That time of year....lots of clips from Rainier this year in pursuit of the "all trails" project. My buddy and fellow band mate from years past provided the vocals for this arrangement of "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas." Guest appearances by Cassie and Brush Buffalo. Happy Holidays to everyone and best wishes for the coming year.

Nice video post, WW. Especially nice vocal rendition, and I don't appreciate Xmas carols much! Curious as to what kind of video device took most of your shots. I used to do occasional work with professional video cams, and am aware that one gets amazing results nowadays (at least decent web quality) with very small, cheap equipment. Cheers to you for the holidays.

Anne, I shoot 4K on a Panasonic G9, 4K on a Panasonic LX100 and 2.7 K on a GoPro 5 Black (usually shoulder mounted).

Nicely done, and very pleasant. Thanks for the effort!
I have a couple of questions: is the ocean shot at Devil's Churn in Oregon, and where is the steep hillside path that was about 1 boot width wide? I had to think about that one for a bit...would I or would I not? It looks like an easy enough path, but the consequences of a slip or a loose rock looked to be serious.

I give the locations of each shot, but the ocean shot is Fingal's Cave, Staffa, Scotland. The steep hillside is approaching Panhandle Gap (Mt. Rainier) and it's not as bad as it looks. What was as bad as it looks was near the end, the shot descending Angel's Landing....1400 feet down. But of the hundreds of people who have been up this trail practically every day in the summer, only 6 have fallen to exploding death.

I SAW that, and wondered. That is one of the places on my "list".
Anyway, fine video, thank you.

+1 for Panasonic for anyone looking to get into small and (debatably) cheap video equipment. I purchased a couple of GH5s for work and have been very happy with the results. I know Sony makes a great case for themselves but I've been completely won over by my Panasonics.

With this displace of creative talent and hiking scenery, it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Thanks and best wishes for the season.
