We should have a pop-up camper on our truck in just over a week. Thanks to folks who pointed us in this direction. That Sprinter looks pretty good too. Nice photos.

I miss mine (actually my parents') 1999. She was a great truck. My family says I ruined it on the mountain roads. I'm going with its age.

1992 Isuzu chassis based Safari Trek 2840, chassis #310 from Safari. 4 cylinder 3.9 liter turbo diesel engine. Gets about 15 mpg depending on wind. Very slow on hills, drives a bit like an old VW bus, enjoy the view as it passes by.
It had extensive water damage and I mostly gutted and restored the interior, adding an inch of insulation to the walls

This looks rugged and cute.

What's especially fun about sock puppets is that you can make each one unique and individual, so that they each have special characters. And they don't have to be human––animals and aliens are great possibilities

On Sunday I drove my Roadtrek up to Hart's pass and Slate peak, topping out at 7160 ft at the permanent gate a short way before Slate peak lookout. Deadhorse point is every bit as gut-clenching as advertised, and the combination of washboarding, potholes and the generally rocky road made a long road seem even longer. A truly brutal drive, but so worth it, with the flowers still going strong, amazing peaks in every direction, and abundant good campsites at Meadows, and cheap too, just $8.
