I check this site and WTA daily--since I have to come up with three hikes a week, year-round. And I prefer to put up a link to photos rather than individual photos since it is quicker!

NWHikers is the best trail board, bar none.

Happy Birthday Northwest Hikers! Though I haven't been a member for long, I've appreciated the resource for several years. Thank you Tom and moderators for all your efforts. It really has been nice having this resource.

I hear that! This getting old thing is supposed to only happen to other people.

Good to hear from you, Damina! You're so old, I thought you were dead.

NWH is best new discovery of the year for me. Really enjoying the discussions, photos, TRs, variety of categories for sharing (especially history), also the lively and . Thanks to Tom & crew for all you do. We have quite a brain trust of interesting, knowledgeable and passionate folks here - a great resource. To mark the occasion, here's one of my fave outdoor quotes:
Quote: | There is no other place quite so mysterious as a high lake. . .I guess the long grinding hike required to get there has something to do with the mystery. You have a lot of time to think on the trail - to anticipate. Usually, you can't even see the lake you are hiking to until you are right on top of it. The last quarter mile is inevitably the steepest, requiring a scramble up a rocky slope to the shoreline. And then you see it, the sun reflected on the ripples, mystical and serene, almost tranquilizing. I know of few other rewards in the mountains quite so thrilling as finally laying down a heavy pack beside the clear waters of one of these remote alpine gems. . . {and} there are few other places on this planet where I can sense such a feeling of deep wilderness, as if it were an emotion.

Yes congrats to all of us!
And, a special thanks to those who've made all this possible all these years.
Tom Davenport and if Mac is still around him too. I hope it lasts another 17.
