Drat! I should've known - you usually post lakes from further north - but that cluster of three lakes and the burnt forest (although on second viewing that seems more like the work of the woolly adelgid) pushed me to hazard a guess...even though I don't really remember the view from Mt Davis anymore, and my trip there predated the 'fire'.

I think all the dead trees in this area are bug kill. That whole area looks like that and it's gonna burn up soon. Can't believe it hasn't yet.
