Nice pics ski! That is an impressive bull and it looks like you got pretty close?

As far as photo labs go, if you ever cross the narrows bridge, Photo Pro in Gig Harbor does quality work. Or you could give Robi's Cameras in Lakewood a try -- I haven't used them for developing but they know their stuff when it comes to cameras, so I'm sure their processing is good.

Cool beans!  It looks like the old Smith Cabin finally gave way, eh?  Given it's condition when I last saw it in Aug '05, I was curious just how much longer that old roof would stand.  Thanks for the reports, and the pics!  I no longer live in the PNW, but the Queets still remains one of my all-time favorite places in the world to be.  It makes me heartsick (in a good way! up.gif) to hear about it all.

Try Costco. Develope and CD is about $5. Add 4x5's brings it up to $8. The scans are decent too and save a bunch of time if you do-it-yourself.

I've learned that those candelabra type crowns are an indicator of a really old cedar tree

Correct. Western Red Cedar crowns get torn off in high wind events, and the tree will produce new leaders and new crowns. Older specimens will have any number of old broken leaders, spreading out into the "candelabra" shape you mention.

There are a number of older specimens near that Duncan Memorial Cedar just off the road, mentioned in a previous report HERE

The largest remaining contiguous stand of old-growth Western Red Cedar is a 274-acre stand located along the Don Bonker Cedar Grove trail on Long Island, a report for which is HERE
