Should be no problem. You'll start to feel the wind push you around a bit when it's in the 30s and it can be very difficult to walk and dangerous above 40.

Trees can fall at anytime, but the probability is higher during high winds, particularly have heavy rains have softened the ground. But if you stay home and eat chips and drink beer that will certainly kill you.

My rule of thumb is to leave and head for an opening or home when the tiny pieces of limbs start breaking and blowing around. Wind is nothing to fool around with when in the trees. You might want to carry a saw or axe with you in your car.

What's especially fun about sock puppets is that you can make each one unique and individual, so that they each have special characters. And they don't have to be human––animals and aliens are great possibilities

Read this trip report. Of course, that was a burned forest. But the two times I was nearly taken out by falling branches were in unburned 2nd growth at low elevation. One in a wind/rain storm, the other clear. YMMV

Or, you can head for a clearing of some kind and wait it out. There's often a meadow or rocky area where trees are not going to hit you. Then you sit and listen and watch. It can be quite entertaining.

+1 Forks loggers come out of the woods when the wind reaches 25mph. I'd say collectively they have a lot of experience that leads them to avoid those sorts of winds. It's not just trees falling but limbs dropping. Many of those limbs are just hanging on since the last wind event and are ready to go with a nice gust of wind. Rumi
