Yes, we are also not very fond of flat boring walks, we much more prefer different relief and challenging hikes. But in this case it was like that.

Hello, everyone! We are a young couple who dedicates themselve to creating photo and video content, as well as our own music. Our content is related to travelling and adventures. We are passionate walkers who love hiking, trekking and camping. Our goal is to promote the healthy lifestyle, to motivate people to walk more and care for nature around. On our fourth and final day of Cami de Sant Jaume in Catalonia we were quite tired already after previous extremely hot days but we had a quiet night in the camping Gran Sol in Seu d'Urgell and were ready to do the final stretch of this hike today. After having bought so many food yesterday(cause we were very hungry) we had to carry with us more extra weight and we were really worried whether we would be able to complete this 20+ kms stretch ot not. But we hoped that the weather and the trail would work in our favor. We needed to get to the town Organya where according to the map this part of Camino was finishing. So we started walking and passed by the village Arfa, went along the car road and got to the town El Pla de Sant Tirs where we lost out track again and had a hard time finding the mark. It seemed like we were getting lost in every village or town as the marking just dissapears there. Finally we found the sign after walking blindly on the dirt road for some time but then on a crossroad there was no mark again. So we had to look it up in GPS and using our downloaded map from Wikiloc we were able to find the right direction. Every day the trail would start quite easy, going flat and then gradually becoming harder and harder and that day wasn't an exception. The ground under our feet started to turn red rusty colours and we started to climb up the mountain hoping that it will lead us to the right way. We were wandering around this mountain for quite a while cause there were so many crossroads and no signs whatsoever. But in the end we got out on the car road and saw a big blue sign of Camino with the map. And there we were very surprised to see that the marked trail till Organya was turning into dotted line at one point and it was saying that the trail is in the process of conditioning. From this information we could understand that probably the last 5 kms till Organya we had to walk on the highways with non-adapted trail for the hikers. It was a very sad fact but we had to continue on and see it with our own eyes. Next part of the trail was very easy and flat passing along the fields and the river Segre. There was a pond on the way which was impossible to get over without wetting our boots. Then the mountain cliffs were coming closer to each other and the trail became more steep and soon we started to go at the edge of the cliff. It was the most picturesque part of this day and probably of the entire trip. Tha path was twisting along the edge giving us wonderful views of the mountains relief and down at the rapid waters of the river Segre. We met the group of the rock climbers there doing their training and it was scary and beautiful at the same time. After this short 2 to 3 kms stretch we were out on the car road and it was sure now that in order to get into town we had to walk this 5 kms on it. It was very strange and unfair that the way was ending there in the middle of nowhere and you had no other choice but to continue on walking on this non-adapted dangerous highway. We were scared to hell to walk on it using our mobile flashlight so that the cars that were coming in front could see us and hopefully drop down the speed. And it was absolutely impossible to hitchhike there cause the cars were moving way too fast and there was a little to no space to stay at the side of the road. So it is super dangerous and not recommended to do under any conditions. At the end of this stretch we were completely exhausted physically and mentally and just couldn't make up our minds of why they decided to end the trail there and there was no information about it before. As we had our plan to get to Organya and it was completely unexpected. So from our last powers we did our shopping in the supermarket and went to bed right away when we got to the camping. The next day we had our bus back home in the evening but we decided to take advantage of the daytime left and explore the surrounding area. It was too hot to hike many kms so we decided to go see a waterfall that was the closest to the town and it turned out to be a very beautiful place. So overall our impressions of the whole hike were kind of mixed. On one hand we enjoyed the different landscapes throughout the hike, beautiful forest areas, mountains in the background and especially the last part walking along the cliff. But on the other hand we were quite dissapointed sometimes to see no marking of the way on the crossroads and in the villages. So without GPS and having a proper map we wouldn't recommend doing this hike. Another dissapointment was that often we had to walk on the big car roads and there was no other alternative to opt for. The month of July when we chose to do this hike is very hot in these places and if we were to do it again we would definetely go in spring or autumn(May or October). Another difficulty we experienced was not having enough places to buy food, so we had to carry lots of reserve food with us for 2 days and it made our hike more challenging. And as we chose to stay in the campings often we had to do some extra kms in order to get there instead os staying on the way but if you choose to stay in the guest houses then it wouldn't be a problem for you. Nevertheless we are glad that we did this hike that was on our hiking list for a long time and got to know the different region of Spain. Watch the full video here:

It was the first day of our 2 day hike to the Pic Carlit (2921m). This bright sunny day started at the camping Pla de Barres and we planned to walk around 10 kms to the lake Pradeilles. We were so excited to do this hike as it's been a long time since we ascended the peak Puigmal last year. All the first part of the trail was a very easy and relaxing walk along the banks of the river Tet. It is one of our favourit type of routes where you really get to enjoy the shadow of the forest and the water flowing nearby. It's been really tempting to get in the water and to take the bath in the river as there were some deep places where the water could be quite warm. The ground under our feet was very soft and bouncy to step at because of the amount of peat in it and it was such a nice feeling. Sometimes the trail was becoming very muddy and slippery but most of the time it was following the little forest paths. We met lots of beautiful flowers and greenery on the way as well as cows and horse pastures. And this land is known to be one of the best pasture lands in the region. We guess it's because of the abundance of water and thus lots of grass for the cattle. We tasted some wild strawberries and they were very sweet and delicious. Then to our sight opened up the view of the mountain range in the distance and one of them was our goal -Pic Carlit. The day was quite hot as it was the start of August and we were really glad to see the clouds coming out at one point. And we learnt throughout this year of hiking that the clouds are the blessing for a hiker and not necessarily mean the bad weather even though the footage can look less bright and cheerful. Closer to an end we had to conquer a steep uphill and got out to the lake Pradeilles. There we found a very nice place to camp right at the lakeside and we were glad to see the signs of the camping allowed in this area. This way we felt more secure and not concerned about hiding our tent or anything. And we were lucky to get a very picturesque spot all to ourselves even though there were lots of people hiking around. So we put up our tent, collected some water from the lake, cooked and ate our dinner and after watching the sun hiding behind the peaks we were out to sleep. And the next day was promising some new exciting adventures... Watch the full video here:

Lovely, thanks for sharing. Reminds me of some hikes near the Swiss-French border that my son and I did last summer.

It was the second day of our 2 day hike to the Peak Carlit. That day we hiked 18 kms through the beautiful lakes at the Bouillouses Natural Site and ascended to the Pic Carlit (2921m). That night we slept really well, it was very quiet and calm with no people around us and the temperature was very comfortable, not too cold but very humid. So we got ready quickly, ate our breakfast and started our 18kms hike for the day. We wanted to leave our backpacks somewhere in the forest so that we can hike as lightweight as possible. We had a very good previous experience with Puigmal when we were glad we did it as it would have been impossible to get down from the peak. So we tried our luck at the hotel situated right at the lake Bouillouses and they let us leave our backpacks in their living room with no problem. One smaller backpack stayed with us for some food and water carrying. The trail started quite challenging with the huge rocks on the way to climb but then got easier going through the forest and lots of lakes. There were lots of people on the trail probably because it was weekend so we couldn't rush through them. But we neede to move moderately fast cause we saw some big clouds coming out and we didn't want them to block the views on the top. The area we were passing by was extremely beautiful untouches places with lots of trails to take and secluded corners to explore. The lake views were so surreal with the perfect reflections of the mountain range in the calm waters and different unique flowers around. We wished we had more time to explore this area taking photos and it deserves to do the separate hike. The rock formations were also very impressive with lots of shapes and forms. We saw the peak Carlit from far in all its glory and as always doubt our abilities to get there. But it already happened to us before and we knew that by doing one step a time we are going to make it. So the half way to the peak was going on relatively flat paths and had little uphills and downhills. And then we saw the sign telling that from this point the trail is starting to be very hard and it is only recommended for expert hikers. We never saw this type of signs before so it was a bit scary. So the trail surely became a constant uphill with more and more little falling rocks as normal for any peak in the area. We met several little waterfalls with the frozen water and there was the snow in the mountain comb that was melting down slowly but was still saved in the middle of the hot summer. That was incredible to see. We started to see some impressive views from above over all the lakes and mountain ranges. But at one point we seemed to lose our track that we didn't realize at first as there were so many different routes and crossroads and also we followed the people tha tis not always a great decision. And so we had to make our way through some animal paths and climb several rock formations that we did for the first time in our lives and were really glad that we left our heavy weight down. Also we regretted not having any gloves for the hands to protect it from scratching. But this experience of losing our way and climbing the rocks made this hike even more memorable and when we reached the top we felt like we overcame so much, including our fears. So the amount of reward and happiness at the top was hard to describe and express in words. The views were unbelievable and as the peak was very steep from all sides and it is the highest in the area we really got to experience the feeling of being on top of the world and above everything. The clouds were really close to our heads and all of a sudden we heard a thunder and the sound was so different from what we are used to being lower. it was the scariest thing ever but at the same time the most authentic. It was a manifestation of nature in all its power. So sadly not having enough time to contemplate all this beauty we had to start our way down. The downhill wasn't easier than the uphill without using the hands it was absolutely impossible to step - this steep was the trail. And we were just in time down at the lake before the clouds completely covered the peak and it started to rain. We waited for some time for the rain to calm down and then moving slowly because it was all slippery we went down to the hotel where we left our backpacks. For us it was for sure one of the hardest trails we've done so far but also the most rewarding. It took us in total 6 hours to do both ways. It is a must hike for everyone who is in the area and the lake Bouillouses natural site is very well worth to explore too. We wouldn't recommend going with heavy weight and the trekking poles are also not very useful sometimes. Wear some good trekking shoes and use some gloves for the hands. Take the right side of the mountain when it gets confusing and you will be on the right track. In the summer months to the Bouillouses area you can get by bus as well, taking the first one in Mont-Louis and then changing to the other one at Pla de Barres campsite. Watch the full video here:

We are passionate walkers who love hiking, trekking and camping. Our goal is to promote the healthy lifestyle, to motivate people to walk more and care for nature around. In this video we are willing to show you what things we are going to take with us on our Camino de Santiago del Norte. As you might know we've been already hiking for one year but this is our biggest and the most serious hike ever. And so we did our best to pack only necessary things that we really need. And before we start we wanted to point out that we are working on getting our backpacks lighter and all things lighter. But this is a long journey and for now our backpacks are not in the perfect state but we want to show it to you anyway. If you are interested in any particular thing that we showed you in this video leave us a comment below and we may film a separate video about it. We are interested to know what things do you take with you for any longer hikes that you do and also we'll appreciate any tips that you'll have for us to lighten our backpack. We are starting the sacred way of Camino de Santiago! We chose to walk the Northern Way or Camino del Norte just because we have never been at the oceancoast and wanted to really feel how it's like to be close to ocean. And secondly, this way is known to be less saturated but yet very beautiful alternative to the most popular French Way and we want to show you what it's got and whether it is worth walking. The official distance it covers is 856 kms starting from Irun, but we started our hike at the French city Bayonne, so for us it would be 35 km or so more. We were not sure how long it would take us exactly to get to Santiago de Compostela but we were fine doing it in 40 days or so, cause we didn't plan to do more than 20-25 km a day. And as usual we planned stay in the campings or doing wild camping during all hike. We hope it's going to be an interesting and fullfilling experience for all of us and we all will learn and explore something new. So let's get into it! Get ready for the exciting trail! It was the first day getting to our starting point. Our Camino started with the really long bus adventure when we had to change 3 bus lines in one day and spent 9 hours in the bus in total. The morning started us being late to the bus and trying to desperately hitchhike but nobody was stopping and it was an early morning that also wasn't in our favor. But finally one kind guy picked us up and saved all the Camino. 1st bus that we took was from the region where we live in from the small village of Saillagouse to the village of Mont-Louis. But we don't even count it because it's just 20 min ride. The next bus was taking us to Perpignan where we had to take another to Toulouse. These 2 buses we survived well not to say we were sleeping almost all the time. But the last final bus was the worst experience it was the longest and we were already very exhausted. In addition to all of that there was a nasty smell of the toilet all the way through (probably because it was going from very far Bucarest in Romania) and the stiffness inside. We were feeling like in a jail not being able to get out and having to sit for 4 hours straight. We felt a great respect for the driver though for being such a strong guy as you couldn't tell that he's been on the road for so long. But finally we were out of the bus near the Biarritz airport (we asked to stop the driver there cause we realized that in Bayonne there are no campings) and we were heading to the nearest camping. It was already quite late around 22pm and when we got there it was nobody there and we just got inside. And when we already set up a tent and took a shower the security guy appeared out of nowhere and started to claim that we are violating the rules and must leave the camping and he might call the police. We couldn't get it exactly why he was so mean to us cause we had lots of experience coming to the camping late and paying in the morning when reception is working. But here he sweared that without reservation it's impossible and he couldn't let us stay. We were shocked and killed by it, had to wrap everything up really quick cause he was staying with us and accompanied us to the very exit of the camping. And that was so far the worst experience we had in the camping. Then we realized that there was some our fault in it that we didn't plan it properly and didn't make enough research of the places and do the reservation in advance. Now we learnt the lesson. So here we are in the middle of the night searching for some shelter absolutely tired and very hungry almost starving decided to walk to the city of Biarritz. And at that time it met us with lots of partying and drunk people and we were starting to worry about some people inadequacy and even robbery. So the impression it made to us wasn't the best and all we had to do was to get out of this city and still we were hoping to find some open camping. Because the prices per night in hotels and guest houses prices were way too high, starting from 100 euros. And overall this area is quite popular holiday destination and thus everything is overpriced. Finally at 4 am we managed to find the open camping, now worrying about rule violations but we were exhausted to such extent that nothing could stop us from falling asleep right away. Our first official day started at 9 am when we were woken up by the people and cars moving around in the camping that we found the night before. We slept only for 5 hours, still tired from the yesterday nightmare, but we had nothing to do but start walking and walk at least several kms. Because even though we didn't have a plan to rush we still wanted to be moving everyday and getting closer to our goal. So we got up and tried to pack everything up very quick and went to find a place to cook breakfast and eat it. Finally it was time to eat smth for us! Cause yesterday we didn't have time nor powers to make it happen. So we started walking and saw the ocean for the first time cause yesterday night we just heard it and it was even scary for us being dark and noisy. It was a beautiful moment and it's obviously very hard to evaluate it's extents and measures but we could feel that it was different, different from any sea that we've ever seen before. You could tell it just from the look and the sound of it, it's huge massive waves and tasty smell. What appeared to be scary yesterday today was very attractive. Later in the day we realized that on the map it says Cantabrian Sea to this part of ocean but to us it will always stay Atlantic ocean and our first meet with it. We saw lots of people on the beach swimming so we assumed it was very warm and we thought we may do it as well one day. Also we realized that the names of the villages and some institutions were double and in the unknown Basque language, so we learnt that the French territory also makes part of the Basque country. It is our first time in here so we were excited to learn more about it. So we started the hike from the village of Bidart on the coast walked through the village Guethary and found our camping site Merko further down the coast. So it sums up to just 6 km we made that day but for us it was just enough considering our physical state. The camping was really nice 3 star camping with everything that you need with a good facilities and the little supermarket nearby. The whole area was a compilation of 5 campings, several beaches, couple of bars and restaurants and some shops. The rest of the day we spent just resting, taking a nap and eating tasty fruit that we bought at the local shop(the peaches were excellent!). We met a breathtaking and sensational sunset at the ocean coast and this first sunset we will never forget. We felt so grateful that we got to experience this beauty and for the great warm cloudless weather that we had (we knew that it's not going to be forever). Watch the full video here:

Hello, everyone! We are a young couple who dedicates themselve to creating photo and video content, as well as our own music. Our content is related to travelling and adventures. We are passionate walkers who love hiking, trekking and camping. Our goal is to promote the healthy lifestyle, to motivate people to walk more and care for nature around. It was the first complete Day of our Camino when we did around 17 kms and walked through the village Saint Jean de Luz, Ciboure and Sokoa and got to the outskirts of the French border city Hendaye. This day we already felt better and more energized not in our best physical state but much better than yesterday. There's also the fact of adjustment to the walking routine when your body needs time to get into the rythm, normally it takes several days for us. So we woke up fresh and ready to hit the trail. The whole day the trail was quite easy partly on the pavement partly on the gravel. It was Sunday so we were conscious about all the shops closing after midday and still were a bit late. But luckily in the city Saint Jean de Luz we found one little supermarket and we were not left starving in the evening. Saint Jean de Luz was a quite major village with lots of commercials and hotels, it even had a Grand Hotel. And starting from Saint Jean de Luz we had to walk the good 5 km along the highway. It was quite busy car road but it was on the side of it so it could be worse. And the views were compensating it all. It was finally the day when we could enjoy the rocky cliffs and walk almost on the edge of them, see lots of sea birds and enjoy proximity of the ocean all the way through. That's what you would expect from Camino del Norte and we were starting to fall in love with it from now on. After been walking along the car road we plunged into the foresty area which was full of oak and fruit trees, singing birds and squirrels. It felt like an oasis after been walking in the hot sun shining in the face without a shadow all day long. There we even found a castle that seemed like it came out of a Disney movie or some fairytale that's how you would imagine the castle as a child I guess. The second day around we met no pilgrims and we expect to find more of them the next day when we'll start walking from Irun where the official Camino del Norte starts. And so at the end of our day at the outskirts of Hendaye we found our 2 star camping site GCU and were happy to find a place to rest and gather the powers for the next day. Watch the full video here:
