This trail is getting crowded so no harm in posting a trip report about it. Horrible hike for me,
forgot my boots, forgot my water, lost my GPS in the snow, broke my trekking pole, needlessly carried snowshoes .
But still I guess I was good to get out.
No real snow on the trail, so get out there while you can. Good luck finding parking though.
I am looking forward to lots of lowland snow so I can snowshoe without having to drive
anywhere, that will make up for carrying my shoes without getting to use them.

Wow, that sucks. At least you found the GPS - and brightened people's day with some great icicle shots. And I like to think of unused snowshoes as nice training weight...
