Our concert is a go. Only the tuba player was missing. He is snowed in.

What's especially fun about sock puppets is that you can make each one unique and individual, so that they each have special characters. And they don't have to be human––animals and aliens are great possibilities

Ski, Unless you live in a wilderness area of Tacoma, I can stop by with my chainsaw if you need that cut up. Let me know. I work in Lakewood...

The grocery store panics may yet continue. Even Cliff Mass seems to be contributing to the hype: The Big One may be yet to come! rolleyes.gif

Yep. Also those who confuse weather with climate, and peeps using isolated incidents as "evidence" of global warming/climate change.

Not sure where Waterville is, but that looks just like here in north central ND. Even the smoke stacks in the distance are "correct". Interesting. I noticed earlier today from the WSDOT website that the I-5 corridor highways and adjacent areas look to be clear and dry. We left the kids place a few years ago, early January, and ran into snow up at the Snoqualmie pass, and it snowed continuously it seemed (on top of packed snow/ice) for the next 1000+ miles. Then as we neared home at about 1am, the temp dropped to -30. Wife won't put up with that kind of driving conditions anymore, so now we take Amtrak for mid-winter trips "out west". up.gif Sit back and read a book, take a nap, have a beer, whatever, it's all good!

My folks said that the wheat farmers around Waterville and Coulee City used to have coal dust dumped by crop duster on the snow to get the snow to melt faster in a late winter. Sounds kind of gross. When there is a lot of snow up dere, Douglas Creek usually floods. We have the white death coming down at a pretty good clip and this time, NO WIND. So far.

Waterville is NE of Leavenworth, near Orando. I've been wanting to do a bike ride ride out there. Really nice canyon.

Been hearing mixed answers from these guys about this next storm comin' through!!! Enough of this wishy washy stuff!!! Real weatherman has answers!!! And delivers!!! I've always said, a good weatherman is a gamblin' man. Keeps that uncertainty under his cowboy hat, and just comes at ya straight with a regular old "here's the deal." If he's wrong, jobs gone and so is his wife and kids. Rip another dip of long cut and hit the flask to keep that stress internal. Then stone cold poker face give 'em the forecast. Appreciate them qualities in a weatherman these days .
