Priest lake north side taken today with $25 point and shoot.

Go placidly amid the noise and waste, and remember what comfort there may be in owning a piece thereof.

The post office across the street from my place in Rhode Island. Yesterday.

Took a walk down Bellevue Ave in Newport Rhode Island today. Saw some nice little homes too!

Cool homes there Joe, reminds me of some on Spokane's South Hill.

The proper term is “Summer Cottages”

I was there right after Hurricane Sandy for a work event. I went walking out on one of those points the night I got there - lots of damage, and the power was out. I was delayed getting back to my hotel while I waited for the local cops to run my driver's license as I guess I looked shady walking around the "summer cottages" at night while no one was around. Nice collection, BPJ!

Here's a shot from a mini-hike at St Edward SP late yesterday. Made it out the gate just in time to avoid being an annoyance to the ranger who was going to close it for the evening.

Lovely. The sky colors against the tree silhouette reminded me of a favorite 19th century painting: "Twilight in the Wilderness" by Frederic Edwin Church

seattlenativemike and backpacker joe -- you're getting out there! We spent a recent week in Kauai and I did many hikes -- the couple hundred yards from condo to beach.
