Spokies, The Stevens Creek DNR access(Rocks of Sharon) on backside of Dishman Hills has enough snow coverage for short but easy access skiing/touring. A 20 minute walk on good bootpack/snow shoe trail puts you on the jeep track where someone was poachin' pow. Road is good; no overnight parking. A shovel and some energetic teenagers could break/trench out a world class sledding/tobaggon/tubig run up there Tom

Some enterprising person might could make a couple of dollars. The luge at the Loup has been booked and sold out for the entire winter. That happened early!

What's especially fun about sock puppets is that you can make each one unique and individual, so that they each have special characters. And they don't have to be human––animals and aliens are great possibilities

Yes, Mica Peak has some logged areas that make for some good turns now too. Pretty much any local hill or slope offers turns...but use your rock skis hahahaha

Schenk, I frequently visit Spokane daughter and cannot get good info on Mica Hills public access. Long talk with crusty local at Liberty Lake says it's all private. Yay? Nay? Thoughts? Tom in Lake Stevens

Tmatlack, Yeah....the only Public Access at Liberty lake is from the park, and all else is private. There is a new access road, not secret, but only a couple years old and not publicized much. You get there by driving South on 27 (Pines Rd) until you get to Mica. Turn left and keep on Belmont road until you get to the parking lot with a kiosk. It is a winding drive, so don't give up. Here is an official page describing the area. https://www.spokanecounty.org/Facilities/Facility/Details/Mica-Peak-Conservation-Area-69

Here is a link to Google maps that shows the relationship of the 3 Public recreation areas on, or near, Mica. https://www.google.com/maps/place/Carlson+Hill/@47.6330469,-117.1627765,12.25z/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x5361dedcdca6cad7:0xc41e290e68ed50cb!8m2!3d47.6501762!4d-117.116312!5m1!1e4 Urban skiing went from good to so-so. Temps warmed up quite a bit yesterday.

Schenk, Great info! Thanks! I needed more places to wander about close to my kids' home on South Hill. Tom
