I knew that lake looked familiar. I've both been there and seen that particular photo before. And I still needed the hint. But since I've seen that photo previously, I will recuse myself from this effort and not reveal the name.
Brian Curtis I figured you probably had been to this lake before. But then again is there a lake you have not been to.

It is named, not on Green Trail maps for some reason, but it is a named lake.

Is it in the Lakes of Washington book?

I have never used that book so I am not sure. But I would guess it's probably not.

This area is a long way out of my wheelhouse, but I'll say Bauer Lk (which is listed as unnamed in LoW) near Richmond Lk.

I am shocked that borank was able to identify a lake from an area that "is a long way out of his wheelhouse". smile.gif

That is Cardinal Lake. A good candidate for the highest tarn, but this one is higher, assuming it really exists. It is a snowfield in every satellite photo that I've seen.

Cool, Brian. Yeah, I liked the one near Cardinal because it seems to be a good sized body of water (~1 acre) and shows up in the satellite image, despite not being on some maps. It's the only one I know of that's higher than the highest of the Enchantment Lakes. Interesting that the one you posted on Rainier is actually on the USGS 7.5' topo.

PaLease, youre talking about BO-Rank. The master.
