Cherry Blossom Festival, Washington DC (April 2, 2019)
1
The past 3-4 years I've never been able to get to the Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington DC when it hasn't been windy. This year, finally, I was able to get about an hour of calm conditions around sunrise. The cherry blossoms were magnificent, and a cheerful sight after the drab winter months.

Great photos! Such a cool time of year. Looking forward to wild flower season here in the PNW!

Thanks guys! Washington DC’s cherry blossom festival has become my east coast replacement for the Skagit Valley tulip festival. Equally cool, but in a very different way.
I can’t wait for wild flower season. For us it began today! I just got back from a hike - without a camera, unfortunately - and saw a number of flowers poking out of the ground. There was an appreciable difference from the early morning showing to that in the afternoon.
