This is one of the greatest NW hiker posts ever. I want to go! Maybe when I retire and have the time; I did the Annapurna Circuit long ago but this looks bigger and better!

FYI, my Slovenian partners had done a number of treks in Nepal (and even Tibet, I think), including the Annapurna Circuit. They said that the Snow Lake trek was better than anything they'd done; even before our return to civilization they were making plans for follow-up trips to the Karakorams.

Very interesting altogether. Your pictures and description has me thinking to go there; don't know when is the best time to be there.

Awesome trip report. My husband and I are doing a very similar trip in July with the same company, Vertical Explorers, http://www.vepakistan.com/itinerary.php?id=5 Do you think that we will be able to do it all? How long did it take you to go through customs in Islamabad? We have 2.5 hours to make our connection to Skardu and I’m a little worried. Thanks for any info you can share!

So amazing...this report should be made into a guidebook, such a descriptive commentary and great photos. I especially liked Sadpara Lake and the wheat fields in your first entry. up.gif

Go placidly amid the noise and waste, and remember what comfort there may be in owning a piece thereof.
