With the iffy weather, I opted for a hike along Ross Lake on Saturday. Very nice day for a long walk. No real precip other than some snow flurries here and there. Hiked to Big Beaver, then up Big Beaver, then went up Pumpkin. Going up Pumpkin was good except the last 500ft from the saddle which was thousands of small jackstraw trees. No real views but I did find a small opening a little north of the summit. If it wasn’t for all the downed trees I might have explored more. After Pumpkin I explored the lake bed around Big Beaver Camp. Make sure to check out the falls. It is a long walk but very enjoyable.
