Lots of possibilities. If you don't want to abuse your car, you can start from the Ski Hill parking lot. I chose to drive up Ranger Road (slowly) and parked at the first junction. I road-walked the upper road access to the telemetry station, and hung out for a long while on the northern points of Tumwater before dropping down on an old skid to the mountain bike trail, "Upper Ribbed." It drops steeply to the Freund Canyon Trail. I then picked up the trail that passes the upper end of Rosy Boa, closing the loop back to my car.
Huge variety of flowers. Balsamroot is droopy at the lower elevation, but great at mid-mountain and about to go off up high. Tweedy's Lewisia is just beginning.
Here's a link to a map that will give you an idea: https://www.trailforks.com/poi/11195/
