Headed out for an afternoon trip to Squire Creek Pass via Eightmile Creek. Trail was snow free until 3400', where we put on snowshoes. Some thin snow bridges in the woods and in the gully shortly thereafter, but no issues after that. Still about 6+ feet of snow on top of Eightmile Creek. Snow is soft and heavy higher up, but it's full coverage. Spent an hour at the pass listening to rockfall + avalanches on the back side of Three Fingers. Then we did the whole thing in reverse
Rough trail - definitely feels longer than 5.4 mi. But a good workout nonetheless.
Magnificent Alaska yellow-cedar stands on that trail. Sweet photos
