Barbara Peak.

With my "new to me" mountain ebike (Trek Powerfly 5), I started at 6:00am from the gate at Hamilton.  I road mostly 18 miles (some snow patches at Howard Lake) and used 3/5 of the battery carrying a 50lb pack.  It took 2 hours 15 minutes one way.  I wanted to ride the road to 4200 feet, but could not due to too much snow on the road just under 3400 feet.  I put on the snowshoes and eventually changed to crampons as I made my way up through a treed notch and traversed on great cramponing snow to the basin south of Barbara Peak.  Snow was getting softer.  I made the summit at 11:30 and the snow was turning to mush.  I went up a snow filled gully on the SE side of the peak, and this  I gingerly made the last 30 meters up to the top.  Probably would have been better without snow.  I was on top for 15 minutes and then I decided to dulfersitz down utilizing the rope--this 30 meter section only.  From there I downclimbed the steep snow filled gully and then it was a glorious glissade all the way down for a long ways!  I decided to go down to the abandoned road that crosses the creek at 3600 SW of Barbara Peak.  The road was mostly snow packed, but I could tell, it would be a pain in the arse if there was no snow due to lots of slide alder until you reached the old 1950's abandoned car west of the creek.

Since I had extra time, I went up peak 4720+ just north of Skookum Creek.  Fairly typical cross country until you get to the top section--well snow started around 3800 feet...

Bike ride back to Hamilton gate to 1 hour 15 minutes.  Back out at 6:30.

man, you go through life, you try to be nice to people, you struggle to resist the urge to punch 'em in the face, and for what?

Whats up with the 50lb pack?  e-bike or not that doesn't make for fun riding.
