So I gave Red Top (Teanaway) at try today. At approximately the 5.5 mile (from the pavement) I ran into this snow spot on a climbing left hand turn. I suppose I could have four wheeled over it but you can see one vehicle actually started to go over the edge. I decided brains were more important than balls and I turned around. Im going to give Pete lake a try in a day or so.

Yep. Classic 4WD sucker trap. Been there but never again. Good call.

Good decision. So far my brains have always won in similar situations. Those things are like quicksand but they pull you sideways.

I fell into a similar trap yesterday in a small patch of snow. It took me two hours to get unstuck and I finally had to jack up my car and put rocks underneath the tires for traction as it was high centered. Only 50' more and I could have made it. I learned my lesson. doof.gif
The snow patch where I got stuck. 50' more and I would have made it. There were no more snow patches for three miles after this. Onward for an 18-mile bike ride.

Be sure to post how pete lake is thinking about heading that way in a week or so.

I may not be the smartest, I may not be the strongest, but I don't want to be. I only want to be the best I can be.
