|My wife really wanted to climb Little T this year but is looking pretty busy for most weekends the rest of spring. Last week I enjoyed a window seat on a flight that flew real close right over the peak and I could see the upper route was probably in good shape. So we decided to give it a try this weekend from Paradise via the low route over Cowlitz saddle. I had previously climbed it from the north side, but that road isn't opening for a few more weeks.
We had some misery with lots of postholing or snowshoeing through mushy snow, occassional intense heat, and trying to avoid areas with scary looking cornices. Overall the upper mountain went about as well as possible though and we made a little side trip up the crumbly Whitman Crest.
