The grouse shots were from my phone (actually all shots were). I have an SLR and 300 mm lens, but I've known 2 people to fall in the snow on the meadow section, and I didn't want a dense cameras near my ribs of I fell... The birds are incredibly tame, if you approach slowly and act calm, they don't seem to mind. Road is open to the end.
