It's an impossible question, anyway. The only half-legitimate way to pick a best hike is to say the one you just did, or have planned.
It's clickbait so you shouldn't expect much. But they claim most epic hike in each state, and some of them are very short (2 or 3 miles) and look very easy. I don't think they're using the same definition of epic that most of us would use. They also magically manage to avoid the mountains in several of the most mountainous states. I could very very very easily come up with better suggestions for Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Wyoming and California. I think they fail to note that their suggestion for Oregon will have you joining a conga line w/ several hundred people from Portland any time you try it.
