Those are cheeky buggers, Joe!

Last weekend, nine of us hiked up to Thomas Mountain in the Easton Ridge complex. What a steep trail! But the dam at the bottom was a nice calming place on the way down. While I was taking photos, a bat was flying around the pool and came zipping past our faces a couple of times. It landed on the cedar tree at right for a few minutes, then resumed the hunt.

Water surface on the MidFork Snoqualmie a few nights back, when the broader landscape wasn't quite getting the light, but this  one little cloud was catching some warm low sun and  reflecting in the river in a nice  way as we cooked up our "picnic dinner" before heading home for the  night...

I love this kind of close up on water, so mesmerizing.  The constantly changing colors and ripple patterns.  Looks like an oil painting.

DF's planted from seed gathered in the PacNW in the mid 1800's. They are now some of the tallest trees in the UK
