Has anyone had any experience with the inov-8 MUDCLAW 275 shoes?
I've been using trail running shoes for backpacking for a while now. I wanted to pick up a new pair and came across these on the inov8 website. They look amazing but I am not sure if they would be overkill for backpacking throughout Washington and Oregon.
Experience or opinions welcome
Not sure about that particular model. REI is having their 20% off one item sale. They have a lot of low rise rail runners including Ino8, Hoka, Salomon, Brooks, etc. Great time to try some various options.
I have found really deep “Knob” depths are not necessarily ideal for varied terrain like rock fields. One of those variables you’ll have to see what you like.

I've tried on one of the inov-8 shoes at REI but not that particular model.. I don't think any place around the area carries that model so I can't really see them in person to judge.
I got a pair of Inov-8 high top hiking shoes. After barely double digit uses one of the lugs broke off and, more importantly, one of the eyelets (the one that extends through the back of the boot to offer support) came unmoored and rendered the shoe unusable.
It was really comfortable, but the durability isn't there.
