This was a Canyoneer hike in a seldom-traveled wash in the eastern part of ABDSP in the Fish Creek/Split Mtn. area. I opted to be one of the guides for this event since I hadn't been there before & it looked interesting. Evidently it seemed interesting to a bunch of others as well as we had lots of guides & members of the public join.

@ the mtg. area, the caterpillars were goin' nuts on the flowers.
We drove up the N. Fork Fish Creek Rd., turned right onto Lycium Wash Rd., then parked shortly thereafter.

Going thru the Slanted Slot:
There were a couple of dry falls following the Slanted Slot, followed by some mysterious pink staining on the rocks.
We reached a good turnaround point in the wash where supposedly things would not get more interesting if we went further, & sat down for lunch while people tried to i.d. a bird way up atop the canyon wall to our east. I lounged in the shade & didn't bother trying to figure it out.
On the way down we bypassed the Slanted Slot by making a traverse above it, then dropped into a side wash that eventually hooked back up w/Lycium.
