Few details.  Notable in that the hiker didn't leave trip plans with anyone.

That's a shame, sad.
Rest in Peace Mr. Hiker.

A video and a photo from his phone were accessed via the cloud and indicated that at one point he was climbing up a pretty steep rocky slope (i.e., not the snow lake trail proper). Perhaps he was attempting a peak in the Source Lake basin?

The news reports state he was found at the bottom of a 300' cliff. There aren't too many of those that don't require significant bushwhacking & route-finding to get to in the Alpental valley. Guye Peak is one of them, but the pic & video from that FB post don't look like Guye. They do look more like something off the north side of Snoqualmie Mtn or even the shoulder of Chair Peak above the old trail up the Source Lake divide.

EDIT: It was Lundin Peak where the accident occurred and there is definitely a lot of exposure up there, even on the side you can "walk" up from Red Pass.

There have been several accidents on Lundin it looks easier than it is and much rock in the area was slick on Wednesday and always friable.

Very unfortunate.

NB: Good reminder that media reports of mountain incidents often contain distorted information.

Which yes, is frustrating.  But it's also understandable because you can't expect any individual reporter to be knowledgeable about all subjects that they are asked to cover.  I'm not trying to excuse inaccuracy, because it bothers me too.

"Walk" in this case meaning exposed class 3, or possibly one exposed class 4 move.
