For those that have done Glacier Peak via the standard route. What is the camping situation between White Pass and Glacier Gap like?
I would prefer to make summit day easier by going further than White Pass for camping on the 1st night but I don't think my team will be strong enough to make it all the way to Glacier gap.
Those seemed to be the 2 standard camping spots but have read a little about spots in between.
There are a few rough spots on the Ridge where the trail crosses between foam creek basin and the white chuck basin. Also on the small plateau above the basin south west of glacier gap. The white chuck basin itself is fairly flat and full of good places to camp among the many small lakes.
As was mentioned, didn't have a problem finding flat spots and plenty of water in the beginning of White Chuck Basin when I climbed about this time of year last summer. It is a long summit day from there, so leave camp early and give yourself plenty of time.
I've camped at the top of foam basin, there is a small pond for water about 200 yards away. Also, after you drop into white chuck basin there are plenty of spots and water. Glacier gap is another spot but will probably have to melt snow for water there.
